Consultancy

All business need access to a ‘competent’ person under health & safety legislation. All our consultants have achieved professional accreditation in their own individual specialist areas. Our team of dedicated safety experts have vest experience in working with construction, manufacturing, retail & service industries. We provide health & Safety advice to ensure compliance with legal requirements and to help prevent against prosecution or fines from the relevant authorities. We can help reduce your insurance costs but above all we can help you ensure that your employees have a safe place to work.

We will devise a Safety Management System with you in order to formalise and ensure safe systems of work. We will help you establish roles & responsibilities for your organisation and devise a plan for managing safety practically and cost effectively.

Project Management

NST can supply you with its safety knowledge and experience to oversee or advice you on safety for any project that your company may be about to undertake. We can supply a full time expert dedicated to managing safety from start to finish of the project or work with you on a consultancy basis to assist you in your safety obligation throughout the project.

Risk Assessment

Hazard identification and risk assessment is a key element is a key element of any health & safety management system. There is a legal requirement as well as a practical one for employers to have completed a risk assessment and have it in writing. NST have extensive experience and expertise in this area. We will send a Safety Officer to your site to record and analyse the risks and risk management with you. This can be supported through a range of training courses to ensure that everyone is aware of the risks and understands how they are to be managed. Workplace hazards can range from construction machinery to the layout of your computer desk.

Safety Statement

NST provide a specialist service in preparation and development of your safety statement. Every company is legally required to have a safety statement. This document should clearly outline all of the company’s policies regarding Health & Safety in your workplace. Failure to comply with this requirement can result in costly fines. NST can prepare this document for you through a few simple steps.

  • 1. One of our Safety Advisors will visit your site to complete a site audit and inspection of your workplace
             and related areas.
  • 2. We will examine your existing safety systems & procedures with recommendations required.
  • 3. Preparation of risk assessments
  • 4. Preparation of safety statement specific to your workplace
  • 5. Review of safety statements & risk assessments when changes occur, either to
             your workplace, or when new legislation is introduced that may affect safety in your business.
  • Method Statements

    Method statements are detailed plans outlining the step-by-step procedures for carrying out specific tasks that fall outside of normal activities. NST will prepare these for you in a few simple steps.

    Construction Safety

    The introduction of the Construction Regulations in 2001 places legal responsibilities and obligations on clients, designs & contractors. NST has the experience and expertise to assist those affected by these regulations in the management of their safety obligations through all the stages of the construction process. Whether you require a Safety Plan to be drawn up, periodic site safety audits, training or professional advice on how to manage safety in construction from the planning stage through to your completed project NST has the competency, experience and skills to help you.

    Toolbox Talks/Induction Talks

    Toolbox talks should be carried out upon commencement of each new construction project. They can include talks on everything from information on relevant or new legislation to practical demonstrations regarding the safe use of site equipment. Toolbox talks are required to familiarise everyone with the health and safety features of the specific site and project. Topics and frequency of toolbox talks can be agreed with management beforehand.

    Induction talks are required for each new employee. NST can carry these out or train an employee to perform the induction talk. Induction talks should be carried out for new employees in all business sectors in order to familiarise the new employee with hazards and safety procedures in a company.

    Auditing

    The continued success of any safety management system requires it to be assessed and audited periodically to evaluate its strengths and weaknesses, in respect of compliance with legislation, standards, procedures and everyday practice. Irrespective of whether a company is a manufacturing or service industry auditing is key to maintaining a high standard of health and safety, the frequency of the audits is dependant on the nature of your business however. NST can advice you what best suits your business.

    Accident Investigation

    Investigation of accidents allow for an immediate corrective action to prevent future accidents of the same nature. All accidents or incidents resulting in unintended harm or injury to person, damage or loss to property, business or process interruption, any dangerous occurrence or adverse impact to the environment need to be investigated. Our experts can help you with the accident reporting and associated investigation techniques but most importantly we can follow through with action to help prevent a recurrence.
